....It’s tough on the psyche to be beaten.Throughout our country’s history, abolitionists, suffragists, union organizers, anti-racists, antiwarriors, civil libertarians, feminists and gay rights activists have challenged the majority of Americans to take off their blinders. Each succeeded one way or another, but not overnight, and certainly not without serious setbacks.
After a decent interval of licking our wounds and pondering what might have been and where we went wrong, we need to spit out our despair and return – united - to battling those who have for the moment outmaneuvered us. Otherwise, we might just as well lie down in the street and let them flatten us with their schemes.

can't i still hold onto the slimmest sliver of desperate, tenuous hope that those mysterious provisional ohioan ballots might be all for kerry??
i'm listening to npr and some idiot republican is saying that michael moore = barry goldwater and that dems should move toward the center, not the left since the republicans have been successful since 1964 because they moved away from the barry goldwater side of their party and toward the center. bleh.
regardless, yes yes yes to the organizing and *uniting* as progressives to hold onto our rights, because we all know W's going to start trying to take them away.
Yeah, I heard that same Barry Goldwater GOP guy this morning. He made me mad.
